Must everything be quantum? – a matter of gravity
There are theoretical arguments both for and against quantising gravity. Two new and strikingly similar proposals have been made, very recently, for settling the issue experimentally. However, while these proposals are asserted to be definitive, they are based on a very strong assertion: that quantum systems cannot become entangled via interactions with a classical intermediary system. This assertion is found to indeed hold for some models of quantum-classical interaction, but to fail for other models. Thus, neither proposal provides a definitive test of nonclassical gravity
