Título: Constraining metric-affine gravities through non-metricity induced effective interactions
Relaxing the Riemannian condition to incorporate geometric quantities such as torsion and non-metricity may allow to explore new physics associated with defects in a hypothetical space-time microstructure. Here we show that in metric-affine Ricci-Based Gravities, effective interactions arise due to non-metricity related contributions for fields of any spin. Given a spin and a mass, such interctions are universal, in the sense that they do not distinguish any other quantum numbers. We will develop the self-interction terms for spins (0,1,1/2) thereby allowing us to constrain the energy scale characterizing the non-metricity in Ricci-Based Gravities to be greater than 1 TeV by using results on Bhabha scattering from Lep. This bound represents an improvement on 6 orders of magnitude from previous bounds to some particular theories whithin the Ricci-Based Gravity class
